IPL® Photofacial in New York, NY

Ready to see your most beautiful skin yet? The IPL® photofacial is the gold standard in treating sun damage and hyperpigmentation to reveal skin that is brighter and more even. Dr. Dennis Gross Dermatology is pleased to offer the IPL® photofacial with the Lumenis M22 laser to patients in New York City, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

What Is an IPL® Photofacial?

With the use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology, the IPL® photofacial treatment is typically used to treat sun spots, spider veins, hyperpigmentation, and improve skin tone by targeting of hyperpigmented or otherwise damaged skin cells with the use of specific intense light wavelengths.

As the light penetrates your skin, it's converted into heat, which then destroys any hyperactive skin cells in the process and causes the pigmentation to disperse. Hyperpigmented spots will begin to rise to the surface of your skin and eventually flake off, leaving you with a much more consistent, smooth, and overall more youthful-looking face.

While many patients will only require the one single course of IPL® photofacial treatment, other patients may need as many as three if they’re to fully reach their desired results.

How Much Does an IPL® Photofacial Cost in New York, NY?

Who Is a Good Candidate for IPL® Photofacial Treatment?

There are many conditions that the IPL® photofacial procedure can treat, although the treatment of sun damage is the most prominent use. Other conditions such as hyperpigmentation, redness and rosacea are also commonly treated, along with the following conditions:

  • Freckles
  • Broken veins
  • Spider veins
  • Brown spots
  • Rosacea
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage

In addition, it should be taken note of that any patients who rate highly on the Fitzpatrick scale or are noticeably tanned should avoid IPL® photofacial treatment. This is mainly due to the way in which the pigment of the skin attracts the IPL® rays.

What Are the Benefits of the IPL® Photofacial?

IPL® photofacial benefits include:

  • Treats a range of areas including the face, neck, chest, arms, legs, and shoulders
  • Minimal downtime and recovery
