Latisse® in New York, NY

Dreaming of darker, fuller lashes? Latisse® is a prescription treatment that thickens lashes over time with long-lasting results. Dr. Dennis Gross Dermatology is proud to offer Latisse® for men and women in Staten Island, New York City, Brooklyn and Queens, NY.

What Is Latisse®?

Latisse® is a prescription eyelash treatment that helps grow darker, thicker, and fuller eyelashes. It isn't completely understood exactly how Latisse® works, but it affects how eyelashes grow. Like hairs on the head, eyelashes have a limited growth phase and then fall out. Latisse® lashes are darker and thicker because the treatment lengthens the growth phase of the lashes and increases the number of eyelashes that sprout.

Latisse®, or bimatoprost, is approved to treat hypotrichosis, or inadequate eyelashes, and it's used as prescription eyedrops for the treatment of glaucoma. It's also used for cosmetic purposes to gradually improve the length and thickness of eyelashes.

How Does Latisse® Eyelash Treatment Work?

Latisse® must be used regularly with applications along the upper lash line, not the lower lashes. The medication must be applied daily for a minimum of two months to see results, and Latisse® eyelash growth results will remain as long as you keep using Latisse®.

According to clinical studies, people who use Latisse® for 16 weeks experienced the following average results:

  • 25 percent longer eyelashes
  • 106 percent thicker and fuller eyelashes
  • 18 percent darker eyelashes

When using Latisse®, you will apply a single drop of the product to the upper eyelid of each eye with a special applicator. The product should not be applied to the lower lashes as they will be treated when you blink. You should avoid getting Latisse® into your eyes if possible and remove contacts before using Latisse®.

Can Latisse® Regrow Eyebrows?

Since Latisse® was approved in 2008 to regrow and lengthen eyelashes, Latisse® for eyebrows has also been proven effective in clinical studies. If your eyebrows are thinned by age, stress, hair loss, or overplucking, Latisse® can help supplement eyebrow growth.

How Long Do Latisse® Results Last?

Your Latisse® results will take a couple of months to develop gradually with full results visible after 12-16 weeks. You can maintain your Latisse® lashes by continuing Latisse® applications every other day. If you discontinue use of Latisse®, your eyelashes will gradually return to their normal appearance.
