Wedding Skincare Prep Guide: A Month-By-Month Timeline
1 Year Before
The best time to begin preparing your skin for your wedding is about one year in advance. Start with a consultation with one of our licensed medical aestheticians, Physician Assistants, or board-certified dermatologists to discuss your goals and skin concerns. From there, we will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your timeline and needs. Concerns such as acne, acne scarring, pigmentation, and skin laxity often require multiple treatments, so starting early allows time for the best possible results.
9 Months Before
At this stage, you will begin or continue treatments focused on correcting deeper skin concerns and building long-term results. Depending on your goals, treatments may include resurfacing lasers like CO2, IPL to target redness and discoloration, or collagen-stimulating treatments such as Sculptra®. This phase is all about creating a strong foundation for healthy, radiant skin.
6 Months Before
Six months before your wedding, the focus shifts toward refining skin tone, texture, and overall quality. This is an ideal time to incorporate treatments such as microneedling, BOTOX®, filler, facials, and chemical peels to smooth, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin. Consistency with your at-home skincare routine is also essential to help maintain results and address concerns like uneven tone, sun damage, and discoloration.
3 Months Before
Three months out, the goal is maintenance and fine-tuning. You will continue any ongoing treatments for concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, or acne scarring while evaluating the results of previous BOTOX® or filler treatments. This is also the perfect time for any subtle touch-ups or “tweakments” to ensure everything looks natural and refreshed well before your wedding day.
1 Month Before
One month before your wedding, we typically recommend treatments with little to no downtime. Facials, gentle peels, BOTOX® touch-ups, and Laser Genesis are excellent options during this stage. The focus is on maintaining hydration, boosting radiance, and keeping your skin calm, healthy, and glowing leading up to the big day.
1 Week Before
During the week of your wedding, the focus is entirely on hydration, glow, and relaxation. Brides who purchase one of our Bridal Bootcamp packages receive a complimentary HydraFacial to gently exfoliate, deeply hydrate, and leave the skin smooth, refreshed, and radiant for wedding-day makeup application and photos.
Our Facial Treatment Services
60-90 Min Facial Treatments
A personalized facial treatment designed to promote healthy and radiant skin. Whether you are looking for hydrating, deep cleansing, extractions, or dryness, this is an excellent option. Every facial includes a double cleanse with massage, exfoliation, extractions (if necessary), a custom mask, and at least one of the following modalities: Ultrasound, Iontophoresis, Microcurrent, Chemical Peel, Pressurized Oxygen, or LED. For 90 minutes, we may include additional modalities such as microcurrent, sonophoresis, iontophoresis, or more extractions.
A HydraFacial is a clinically proven facial treatment suitable for almost anyone that leaves you with improved and healthy, glowing skin. Whether you have dry, oily, mature, or acne-prone skin, a HydraFacial can be tailored to your needs. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and infuses the skin with targeted serums. Includes chemical peel and vacuum suction to clear the pores of dead skin cells, oil, and debris to decongest the skin.
An advanced facial rejuvenation treatment designed for results that uses multiple advanced modalities. The advanced facial rejuvenation will include a double cleanse, extractions, chemical peel, Laser Genesis, LED, and JetPeel. This is an excellent treatment that can be done monthly to refresh your skin.
HydraGenesis treatment at Dennis Gross Dermatology is a results-driven treatment. At our practice, we combine the hydrating and pore cleansing HydraFacial with the collagen-stimulating effects of Laser Genesis. This is an exceptional facial for almost all skin types including sensitive and rosacea prone skin. HydraFacial primarily focuses on the skin’s surface, while Laser Genesis penetrates deeper layers to produce collagen and elastin while addressing fine lines and wrinkles.
We utilize JetPeel technology to cleanse with lymphatic drainage, exfoliate, and infuse the skin with vital nutrients. This is an excellent choice before an event to hydrate and nourish the skin or to address dehydration, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, or dryness. JetPeel begins with cleansing that incorporates lymphatic drainage. The next phase involves a custom exfoliant based on your skin’s needs and lastly, the skin is with peptides, antioxidants, vitamins, and hyaluronic acid to leave your skin bright and hydrated.

Designed to manage acne and help clear your skin. We double cleanse, perform extensive extractions, a professional Alpha Beta peel, use high frequency, incorporate blue light LED, a hydrating mask, and finish with targeted serums and hydration to balance the skin. The peel exfoliates dead skin cells, boosts collagen, and clears pores. Includes consultation on skin needs, product recommendations, and home care routine. You can also request Laser Genesis be added to further address areas of concern.
A highly effective, non-invasive lifting treatment that utilizes Neurotris’ powerful microcurrent technology to lift, tone, and sculpt the face. For those looking to address laxity, boost circulation, soften fine lines, stimulate collagen and elastin, and refine and tighten pores, microcurrent is a great option. A form of muscular re-education for the face, Neurotris microcurrent therapy manipulates over 30 different facial muscles during treatment. During the treatment, low frequency ultrasound and LED are also used to help products penetrate and maximize results.
The pregnancy radiance facial is designed to offer both relaxation and results, helping you maintain a healthy, glowing complexion during your journey. 30 Min On the “Glo” Facial Treatments
During the LED facial treatment, we double cleanse and degrease the skin to ensure the LED can penetrate as effectively as possible. We choose LED settings based on your skin’s needs. We finish by infusing the skin with active ingredients, targeted serums, and hydration to balance the skin. Your skin will be radiant the next day.
We help you achieve more youthful, healthy skin with our customized peels. Whether using one of our professional Alpha Beta peels, Retinol peel, VI Peel, or customized solution, a peel is a fantastic step towards refreshed skin. A clinical strength peel helps reduce the severity of breakouts, refreshes the skin, and stimulates collagen. The speed or depth of cell turnover is determined by the concentration of the peel and the amount of time left on the skin. The treatment will be customized depending on your skin’s needs. A consult will be held at the beginning of the visit to identify which peel is best suited to your skin’s needs.
Our Body Treatments
This advanced scalp treatment is designed to improve scalp health, reduce inflammation, and support healthier hair growth. The treatment begins with a stimulating scalp massage followed by HydraFacial Keravive, a 3-step scalp therapy that cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the scalp using a peptide-rich growth factor complex. Red light and infrared LED therapy are then used to help boost circulation, stimulate collagen, and calm inflammation. For optimal results, a series of treatments may be recommended alongside PRP therapy.
A full-body exfoliating treatment designed to improve signs of aging, blemishes, uneven tone, and hyperpigmentation. This clinical-strength Alpha Beta Professional Body Peel is combined with LED therapy to support collagen production, accelerate cell turnover, and leave the skin smoother, brighter, and deeply hydrated.
Hydrafacial Body extends the benefits of traditional Hydrafacial technology beyond the face to areas such as the back, arms, legs, décolleté, and backside. Using patented vortex technology, the treatment deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the skin for a smoother, healthier, and more radiant appearance.
This targeted treatment deeply cleanses and decongests the skin on the back to help improve breakouts, clogged pores, and uneven texture. The treatment includes deep cleansing, an Alpha Beta Peel, LED therapy, and hydration to leave the skin smoother and refreshed. It can also be paired with Hydrafacial for enhanced hydration and rejuvenation.

Health Factors and When Alternatives May Be Recommended Instead of Facials
Who is A Good Candidate for Facials?
Most healthy adults seeking brighter, smoother, more hydrated skin are good candidates for facials. Ideal candidates can commit to sun protection and a simple home routine. If you have active cold sores, open lesions, a recent sunburn, or you’ve used isotretinoin within the past six months, we may delay treatment. During pregnancy, we avoid certain acids and retinoids and adapt facials for comfort and safety.
Those with severe cystic acne, significant melasma, or advanced photoaging may benefit from complementary procedures such as chemical peels or laser treatments, which we can discuss during consultation. Our goal is to match you with the most appropriate approach for your skin and timing.
What Results to Expect from Your Facials
Many patients notice an immediate glow, softer texture, and a cleaner-looking complexion after one facial. Results typically peak within 24–72 hours as the skin settles and reflects light more evenly. For wedding prep, we often suggest a series—usually monthly—leading up to the event, with a final gentle facial 7–10 days prior. Continued benefits depend on your home routine, sun habits, and overall health.
While facials can improve the look of pores, dryness, and fine lines, outcomes are gradual and cumulative. We will set realistic expectations and personalize maintenance, which may include seasonal facials to keep results on track.
Recovery and Aftercare Following Medical-Grade Facials
Downtime after facials is typically minimal. You may experience mild redness or sensitivity for several hours, especially after extractions or light exfoliation. We recommend gentle cleansing, fragrance-free moisturizer, and broad-spectrum SPF. Avoid hot yoga, steam rooms, waxing, scrubs, retinoids, and at-home peels for 2–3 days.
For wedding prep, schedule more intensive facials at least 1 month prior, with a final hydrating facial 2-3 days before the event. Dermaplaning is recommended 7-10 days before the wedding. Stay hydrated, prioritize sleep, and protect your skin from sun exposure to preserve your glow. Follow-up visits help us fine-tune your plan based on how your skin responds.
How Our Facials Are Customized and Delivered Safely
Facials at our practice are noninvasive treatments tailored to your skin type, concerns, and event timeline. After a detailed consultation and skin assessment, we select techniques that may include a chemical peel, targeted extractions, hydrating masks, microcurrent, lymphatic drainage or LED light therapy to calm and clarify. Each facial is adjusted to minimize irritation while maximizing radiance.
We avoid a one-size-fits-all protocol—oily or breakout-prone skin often benefits from meticulous decongestion and bacteria-targeting blue LED, while dryness or sensitivity calls for barrier-supportive formulas and red LED. Brides and grooms-to-be may start a series 8–12 weeks before the event, tapering to gentler, no-downtime facials in the final two weeks. No anesthesia is required; most patients describe the treatment as comfortable. All facials are performed by our licensed aesthetician working closely with our dermatology team, with ingredient adjustments for pregnancy and medication use. Safety, hygiene, and realistic expectations guide every step.

We customize facials with barrier-supportive ingredients, gentle chemical peels, JetPeel, and red LED to soothe visible redness. We avoid triggers such as aggressive scrubs and high-strength acids. A series of gentle treatments and a simple home routine can improve comfort and tone while keeping sensitivity in check.
Clarifying facials can reduce congestion through precise extractions, blue light LED, and non-comedogenic hydration. To minimize purging before photos, we time decongesting treatments a few weeks out and switch to hydrating facials 7–10 days pre-event. Consistent home care further supports clear-looking skin.
Most patients maintain results with facials every four to six weeks, adjusting with the seasons. If your skin is sensitive, we may extend the interval. We will reassess at each visit and adapt ingredients to support hydration, clarity, and radiance without unnecessary irritation.
Yes, we offer a Pregnancy Radiance Facial that focuses. We avoid retinoids and certain acids, and we will review your medical history to make sure your treatment is safe but effective. Always inform us about your medications and any changes in your health so we can tailor each session responsibly.
