This laser tightens neck and body areas, particularly the stomach. There is no recovery time and anesthesia is not required. Multiple treatments are necessary, typically three treatments performed several weeks apart.
The Mixto laser is a skin retexturizing laser that firms and tones your skin by stimulating collagen and helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It also removes surface imperfections like sunspots. Because it is an invasive treatment, you can expect some redness and swelling. Recovery time is usually five to seven days. Dr. Gross prefers this laser to its competitor, the Fraxel laser, having compared the two in a head-to-head study.
The Photo Rejuvenation laser is a great way to freshen your look. It stimulates collagen in the skin to help improve firmness, elasticity, wrinkles, fine lines and reduce pore size. There is no redness, pain or recovery time associated with the laser. Dr. Gross recommends multiple treatments for maximum cumulative results, but benefits, including an increased radiance and glow, are seen instantly. The Photo Rejuvenation laser is also used in Dr. Gross’ PhotoPeel treatment.
This versatile laser stimulates collagen and firms fine lines anywhere on the face, especially around the eyes and lips. It also treats acne by targeting the sebaceous gland, reducing redness and preventing future breakouts. The Smooth Beam laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates to stimulate collagen growth and allows it to improve acne scars and improve the overall skin texture. Smooth Beam is a non-invasive laser that may cause redness for one to two days and can also be used in conjunction with the Alpha-Beta Peel or TCA peel.
The Syneron laser is an exfoliating laser that firms skin, reduces lines and wrinkles, and removes growths red and brown in color It is a non-invasive laser that typically requires no downtime although, in some severe cases, there may be a recovery time of one to two days.
When it comes to firming and tightening, the Titan is also remarkable. It works by heating up skin’s collagen, causing it to contract and thicken, creating new collagen and giving skin a firmer, tighter appearance. It’s ideal for those areas of the skin that have lost elasticity and have loose, sagging skin, like the neck. It’s also perfect for the loose skin left behind on the stomach after pregnancy. Titan is also exceptionally effective for facial wrinkles and fine lines. The treatment causes redness and flaking for a recovery time of three to five days.
The V-Beam laser is effective in reducing redness caused by blood vessel growth. V-Beam can be used to eradicate all types of redness including that caused by stretch marks, scars, birthmarks, port wine stains, psoriasis, broken capillaries, acne and even rosacea. It is non-invasive and requires no recovery time.
The Q-Switch Yag laser is an exfoliating laser that treats brown, discolored sunspots. It uses light to target the pigment and break it up over a period of five to seven days. After treatment with the Yag, brown spots will turn red, then they will develop an ashy, crepe-like texture and then eventually fall off. This laser can be used on any part of the face or body. It treats most types of pigmentation, including age spots, birthmarks, liver spots and sunspots. It is invasive so there will be some recovery time of three to five days. While safe for most other forms of pigmentation irregularities, Yag is not to be used on melasma (a common mistake!). Before he recommends laser treatment, Dr. Gross will first evaluate the reason for your color change. If he diagnoses you with melasma, he will prescribe the use of bleaching agents or peels to eliminate the melasma before he tackles the other pigmentation issues.
Results of laser hair removal are cumulative. Usually after four to eight treatments, at least 90 percent of the hairs treated are permanently removed. While undergoing treatment you cannot shave, wax or tweeze the area.
